Three Chetwynd men Walter Sochan Harold Sochan and Louis Desjarlais were charged November 29 for consuming liquor in a public place on Highway between Chetwynd and Hudsons Hope. Kenneth Godsm an Hudsons Hope was charged under Sec 67 for consuming in a public place in the Peace Glen Hotel parking lot. Mrs Beverly Noll faced a speeding charge November 7 on Highway 29 in Hudsons Hope and Lyle Fenton was listed for November 29.
An all candidate forum was held at General Pearks School on December 4 with Jack Dick as moderator. Most candidates attended except Doreen Lockhart who was ill. Tex MacKiegan and Ken Walmsley led most responses while other aldermanic hopefuls stayed largely silent.
The Village of Chetwynd reports 38 building permits totaling 680267.00 to date in 1972. Nine permits were issued in October to November, totaling 85000.00, including two residential 29000.00 and three residential alterations 7000.00, three commercial construction 15000.00, and one government/institution 34000.00. Cooling items mention a vehicle stop sign violation and odd notes about Hudson's Hope, a Ski Doo, and a breakdown on Old King Gething Road.
Hudson's Hope Elementary Junior Secondary reports its badminton team led by Brian Umberger Lorimer Braaten and others won the majority of games at a December 2 Dawson Creek tournament. A return match is planned for December 27 as students head abroad for Christmas.
Mr and Mrs Tim Dewhurst of Chetwynd welcomed a daughter weighing 8 pounds 15 ounces. Mrs Reidek Nesset also welcomed a baby boy weighing 9 pounds 1 ounce.
