Critters and beasties of Moberly Lake
June Cochrane notes a robin flitting between dusk and darkness at 8:30 pm while four redpolls visit feeders and magpies threaten them. Six downy woodpeckers and noisier hairy woodpeckers pass, with a territorial male harassing a female. Grouse tracks appear, a resident weasel probes under the house, and the lake groans as ice shifts. June, a long-time Moberly Lake resident, shares her nature observations.
