EnCana plans hub near Chetwynd in major gas project
EnCana aims to move into the Chetwynd area within five years after a September 369 million dollar purchase of 500 000 net acres called Cutbank Ridge spanning the BC Alberta border. The company projects long term gas output with wells two kilometres deep producing 25 30 years. Councilors push to ensure local benefits and local contracting, with collaboration on training via Northern Lights College and a 2004 open house for public input.
