Civic Night marks 29th year in Chetwynd with Leisure Pool nod
On Saturday December 3 1988 Chetwynd held its 29th Annual Civic Night. Mayor Charles Lasser announced the Leisure Pool for Chetwynd with visitors MLA Jack Weisgerber and others in attendance. Hugh Lindsay urged holiday safety and designated driver options including BC Transit and local taxis to ensure safe rides home.

Victim assistance grant announced for Chetwynd
MLA Jack Weisgerber announced a 4270 grant from the Victim Assistance Program to the R C M P for a police based victim and witness program covering November 15 1988 to March 31 1989. The total includes 1875 ongoing funding and 2395 start up funding for a civilian coordinator and volunteers.
