Site C contract awarded to Peace River Hydro Partners
Local leaders applaud the decision to award the main Site C civil works contract to Peace River Hydro Partners, including Fort St. John’s Petrowest. The move drew praise from Fort St. John Mayor Lori Ackerman and North Peace MLA Pat Pimm who stressed local involvement and regional subcontracting opportunities. The BC Building Trades group condemned the award, saying it will limit BC worker opportunities. The contract is valued around 1.5 billion dollars and final terms remain to be signed.
