Bear Mountain Wind Park Builds on Environmental Push
The Bear Mountain Wind Park plan calls for 78 metre high towers with 82 metre rotor spans linked by underground cables to a mountain substation and overhead lines feeding the grid. Power generation begins late 2009 after geotechnical work, road and foundation siting, and environmental certification, with the project creating up to 120 jobs during construction and six full time roles after opening. Environment and wildlife considerations paused the process briefly this summer awaiting mitigation details for birds and bats.
