HRDC to restructure service network across BC Yukon region
Minister Axworthy announced a new HRDC service delivery network to administer unemployment insurance pension and old age security and provide employment services. The plan cuts 1995-96 and 1996-97 budgets by 600 million and 1.1 billion and reduces the workforce by about 5000 nationwide with regional staff reductions and new alternative service sites including Dawson Creek Prince George Fort Nelson Chetwynd Fort St John and others supported by technology and partnerships.
