Community leaders honour Bunne Hoffman and council meet

A memorial service for Bunne Hoffman was held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Father D D MacDonald officiating. The special council met August 13 to appoint an alternate to the Liard Regional Board and discuss leisure pool boundaries.

Premier Vander Zalm visits Chetwynd for town breakfast

Premier Bill Vander Zalm and his wife Lillian attended a pancake breakfast in Chetwynd on Friday morning August 14. About 100 locals greeted them as Willard Dunn and MLA Jack Weisgerber spoke, and a $350,000 Expo Legacy Fund cheque was presented to Mayor Lasser for a new multipurpose building on the Rodeo Grounds.
