Safe Communities Day honors local police and new departure from Chetwynd
In Chetwynd Aug Safe Communities Day ran 1 to 3 pm at the Women’s Resource Centre with about 50 attendees. The event thanked Constable Jeff Preston Corporal Bruce Haley and Shirley Haley for their service and noted D.A.R.E. and Bike Roaders programs. Legal Aid staff provided information and brochures on safety, with plans to make the event annual. Local businesses and Bob Shirley spoke on community safety and supporters donated food and balloons.
