Family thanks community for hand-pedal tricycle gift
Hannah Evans, a three year old with Spina Bifida, will receive a hand-pedal tricycle funded by the Chetwynd Legion. The $1800 custom bike, normally unaffordable, was granted after a Legion charity review following an applicant letter from Hannah’s parents.

Moving Van Abandoned In Chetwynd Parking Lot
At 3 30 a m on August 4 2001 the Chetwynd RCMP found a moving van with its cargo door open and items scattered. Two intoxicated male employees were found passed out in the cargo area. Police had them clean up, secure the vehicle, and seized the keys to prevent drunken driving.

Chetwynd RCMP Boost High Risk Driving Patrols in July
In partnership with E Division Traffic Services and the Ministry of the Attorney General the Chetwynd RCMP detachment increased highway visibility along the Hwy 97 corridor between Dawson Creek and Mt Lemory during July. Officers targeted speeding following too closely unsafe lane changes failing to wear seatbelts and other moving violations while apprehending prohibited drivers and those with outstanding warrants or alcohol impairment to keep roads safe.
