First Nations challenge Site C permits in Alaska highway news
Two Treaty 8 groups, Prophet River and West Moberly, seek to quash BC government environmental permits for the Site C dam. They allege at least 36 permits cover tree cutting, fishing, beaver dam removal, bald eagle nest removal, and more. They claim BC Hydro planned to apply in November 2012 before environmental assessment finished, a practice they call synchronized permitting.
