Saulteau First Nations open 3.5 million community centre
The Saulteau First Nations celebrated the grand opening of a 16,000 square foot community centre costing 3.5 million dollars. Project superintendent Lee Combs called it on time and on budget while Chief Allan Assassin praised the legacy and shared vision. The facility includes a kindergarten, offices, gym, weight room, meeting rooms, and kitchen. Architect Peter Turje noted multiple functions and a commemorative map was presented by Derek Doyle. A feast followed with performances by The Tribe and Cory Martins Band, and a 50/50 draw funded gym equipment.
