Louisiana-Pacific to shut down September for maintenance
Louisiana-Pacific will close its Chetwynd mill from September 13 for a month to perform maintenance and operator training without laying off staff. Bonkmeyer says 170 plus employees will keep their jobs as the downtime funds professional development and mill renovations to standardize supervisor methods. The chlorine-free, non-effluent pulp mill uses northern hardwoods.
