Alaska Highway Borrow Pit Stocking Opens Fishing Lakes
The Ministry of Environment announces 11 borrow pits near the Alaska Highway are stocked with rainbow trout as of June 27, 1989. Three lakes at kms 393.5 413.6 and 417.3 hold catchable trout now. others hold yearlings expected to reach catchable size by fall. Minimum trout size set to 25 cm. Stocking will be repeated annually on a put-and-take basis with monitoring by Fisheries staff. Anglers are encouraged to report catches.
