Three week Perseid meteor shower lights sky
The Perseid meteor shower runs for three weeks with peak around August 11 and 12. Astronomer Dr. Ian Halliday notes near full moon will hinder visibility unless observers go to dark country nights after moonset around 1 am. Naked eye viewing best. meteors appear about every minute at peak.
