Ed Press Fired Over Oath Refusal in British Columbia
Ed Press a 48 year old truck driver from Chetwynd has been dismissed by the British Columbia Ministry of Highways for refusing to sign an oath to the Crown. The ministry says a letter of dismissal has been sent after years of warnings and a July 13 suspension. Press plans to go to Ottawa to picket Parliament and the Governor General’s residence, with the BC Government Employees Union offering support if he files a grievance. He aims to campaign against the monarchy, arguing the Queen’s divine right to govern is implied by coins’ inscription. He may pursue a human rights complaint if he initiates action.
