Precarn and ISTC Sign $10 Million Ottawa Agreement
Ottawa announced that Precarn Associates will receive up to 10 million dollars over five years to develop its pre competitive research in intelligent systems. The program, the first funded under ISTC's Strategic Technologies Program, aims to boost collaboration between industry and universities to share costs and risks in advancing information technology, biotechnology and advanced materials. Precarn, formed in 1987 as a national consortium of 34 Canadian firms, will manage projects and networks across Canada without conducting research itself.
