Judy Carlson reports Vancouver area tax fighter George Armstrong of Virden Manitoba spoke at Chetwynd on Saturday April 16. He linked Canada's debt to the World Bank, urged a 100% reserve bank and GST and income tax resistance, and urged audience action including party involvement.
Hudson's Hope Mayor Lenore Harwood questioned Councillor Terry Webster at a council meeting over private action to revive the summer playground program. Webster proposed a student led plan to run the program with facility use and a contract, prompting concerns about town liability and without council approval. The Recreation Commission has met twice since February as talks continue.
