Westcoast cancels Tumbler Ridge plant plans in 1995
Westcoast Energy will not build the planned 672 million dollar gas processing facility at Tumbler Ridge this year. The project shifts to expanding the Pine River plant near Chetwynd 25 km away, with a 400 million dollar cost and a 1997 in service goal. Community leaders express disappointment while public meetings and NEB review are planned to assess impacts.
