Site C Dam seen as major CO2 source in BC study
A new study by West Moberly First Nations and Peace Valley Environmental Association estimated the Site C hydroelectric dam would add about 150000 tonnes of annual greenhouse gas emissions in British Columbia, largely from forest loss and reservoir decay. The report argues the project fails BC's 2007 carbon-emission rule for new electricity.
