Pembina spill trial may move from Chetwynd to Prince George
A trial against Pembina Pipeline Corporation over the Pine River spill may be moved to Prince George from Chetwynd. Pembina pleads not guilty to five charges as venue change is requested to ease witness travel for 33 Crown witnesses, with 35 to 40 witnesses to be affected. The judge noted the event occurred in Chetwynd but acknowledged the convenience for witnesses as both sides prepare for an eight week provincial court trial.
