Chetwynd Counselling Services announces changes to its Family Initiatives program due to government cuts. The agency will limit hours and seek a one day service contractor as it reinforces contract boundaries and searches for alternative measures while inviting community input and maintaining support.
On March 27 2003 a 33 year old man suffered a throat wound after a confrontation at the Chetwynd Windrem Motel. He was treated at Chetwynd General Hospital and then Grande Prairie Alberta for further surgery. The victim remains at home with non life threatening breathing injuries. A 24 year old suspect was arrested March 30 at his residence by Chetwynd RCMP and is due to appear in Dawson Creek Provincial Court April 11 2003 on aggravated assault charges.
