Delegates oppose motel site plan in Chetwynd council talks
Delegates led by Marge Rose and Ron Bellamy spoke for Don Wallace to urge council to consider Wallace land across from Irly Bird for a motel restaurant. Pine Cone Motel owner Don Vaale opposed the project citing 54 percent occupancy and no need for expansion until occupancy nears 80 percent. Mayor Lasser noted a 1994 convention and discussed seeking nearby towns to host if needed and reciprocity when Chetwynd adds rooms.
