Chetwynd hosted the largest mixed spiel in its history on March 31 and April 1 with 48 rinks across three events. Facilities required arena rental to accommodate five sheets of ice and day night curling.顶 Spectators including MP Frank Oberle watched winners in A B and C events led by the Sawatzky Dodge and Maurer teams.

Wreckage of a plane found near Mackenzie three killed
The missing Piper Cherokee plane carrying Garnett Erickson Patrick Schindler and Charlie Kasher from Mackenzie to Lloydminster Sask was found in a wooded area three miles from the airport runway. Capt Donald Fish said a military helicopter located the wreckage at 9 am and all three men were killed on impact. An investigation by the ministry of transport will follow.
