Victim Witness Program Talk Highlights Chetwynd Efforts
Bernice Van Sickle outlined the RCMP CACAS police based Victim/Witness Assistance Program in Chetwynd at local Chamber and Merchants Association meetings in April 1989. Since January the program has 15 clients, six volunteers, and one paid coordinator delivering court prep accompaniment referrals and victim support.

Quintette wins safety award for top BC mine in 1988
The Quintette coal mine at Tumbler Ridge in northeastern British Columbia earned the C Trophy for open pit mines with over 1,000,000 man hours in 1988, the second straight year for Quintette.
