Centralia to get a new opera house next summer

Centralia plans a new opera house to rise next summer. A $20 gold piece from 1895 was found by Dell Myers during sidewalk work in front of the bank, a Christmas surprise for him. Tragic Christmas for Cournyer Family as Baby Dies

Saturday brought sorrow to Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Cournyer after their two month old baby fell ill in Centralia following a visit to the Shields home. The infant died Saturday afternoon and was laid to rest in Centralia Cemetery after a Sunday funeral. J. G. Startup, visiting Seattle for Christmas, shared a story of a man who fell from a fifth story window in Seattle, only to be found alive after implying the fall was slower than expected.
