Wednesday afternoon CW Maynard resigned the county treasurer offer, effective when his successor qualifies. The board refused any allowance for deputy hire, leaving sheriff and auditor similarly treated. A new treasurer will probably be chosen today. salary is 1500 and a 50000 bond. several names from Centralia and this city were mentioned.

On April 6 Boistfort men M Griffith and H L Roundtree secured a contract from John Roundtree to cut 1000 cards of shingle bolts. The Boistfort lyceum closed last Saturday. Fred Hayes tended to property then returned to the Sound. A dance was held at Charlan’s residence last Saturday with a good time reported. The family of E W Capron moved from the Chamberlin farm to a ranch on Halfway Creek.

Council met Thursday evening with Mayor Stewart and Councilmen Maynard Urquhart Lynch and Newland present. Treasurers and clerks reports referred to finance committee. W C Bush granted liquor license. Lynch motioned to instruct the city marshal to enforce the ordinance requiring citizens to remove offensive matter from premises and adjacent streets and alleys.
