Last Meeting of Washington Reform School Board

The Washington state reform school board held its final meeting on Wednesday with Major Reinhart of Seattle and John Dobson present. The session approved the last batch of bills from the 1825 appropriation, with 25 091.38 remaining unused reverting to the state treasury. A separate notice shows a craftsman pledging to focus solely on watch clock and jewelry repair after 17 years in the trade. Former Centralia banker Hense to be tried on indictments

A grand jury returned two indictments against Frank Hense for irregularities during his time in Centralia’s banking scene. C O W Johnsone, a Tacoma hardware merchant, left for Minnesota with papers to secure Hense’s return. Sheriff Carpenter disputed the handling, while Attorney Dysart took charge. Hop market holds firm as March ends with rain delays

Report from Lewis county notes heavy rainfall delaying hop yard work in March. Expectation of fair weather in two weeks may accelerate cultivation.
