Englewood Race Boundary Debate Stirs School Plan
In a Board of Education hearing Alderman Langford and Englewood residents denounced a gerrymander aimed at shifting Gage Park students to Englewood High. They cite overcrowding, historic school status, and unequal services as motivation. The plan would move 519 of 661 transferring students, most of them Black, amid opposing views from local councils and civic groups.
