Lightning Kills Two Men in Louisiana Storms
Thunderstorms and lightning swept Louisiana yesterday killing Jeff Rester and Bud Cole at a Kinder lumber camp. A barn with hay grain and vehicles burned, five mules and a barn were struck at another site in Guadan. The Iberian editor E F Milard’s residence near New Iberia was partly wrecked. Washington June 23 Before the senate adjourns today it is expected the Root amendment to the Canadian reciprocity bill will have been acted upon. Not even Senator Root himself expects that it will be passed. The amendment concerns terms governing reciprocal trade in print paper and pulp wood between Canada and the United States.
