Fatal pistol duel shocks Wake County in Eagle Rock Township
Special to The News Raleigh June 5 Buck Robertson is dead and H W Montague is wounded in the right arm after a pistol duel in Eagle Rock Township late last night. The clash arose after Robertson accused Montague of making uncomplimentary remarks about a young woman. Robertson fired first, Montague returned fire wounding Robertson in the shin and breast. Miss Fossie Hicks narrowly escaped injury when a bullet passed through her skirt. Montague surrendered this afternoon.
