Nashville, December 8. J. Harvey Howe, head of the Howe Ice Company, admitted he will be president of the Southern Ice Company, a five million dollar corporation organized under Delaware law, which filed its charter here this week.
A Georgia gubernatorial primary shows Joseph M. Brown winning by county unit rule, carrying 84 counties to 40 for Pope Brown and 20 for Judge Russell. Richmond County tallies list Russell 1,051, Pope Brown 648, Joe Brown 2,382 for governor, with McCarthy 915 and Stanley 830 for commissioner of labor.
In Huntsville Alabama federal court jurors are chosen for the John W Knight trial. Prosecutors seek to prove he as head of Knight Yancey Co of Decatur forged cotton bills of lading totaling over 4 million dollars and collected on drafts in New York and Liverpool. The defense efforts to delay were dismissed and about fifty witnesses are subpoenaed with a possible three day presentation.

Under a court decree Judge James E. Boyd approved the sale of the American Company mill at Draper to the Thread Mill Company of Monticello Indiana for 435000 dollars for the mill and machinery and 78000 dollars for stock and personal property. The sale satisfies a 400000 dollar deed of trust held by the New York Trust Company. The mill carried 900000 dollars in total indebtedness. The property will be operated tomorrow and all employees were ordered to report for work.
