The Charleston Park and Recreation Commission recommended leasing the Greenbrier Street site from the power company for $1 a year with a fence around the lot. Christmas Seal Drive Starts West Virginia effort to raise funds
West Virginians will receive more than 80 million Christmas seals to support tuberculosis work. The West Virginia Tuberculosis and Health Association aims to raise at least 210000 this season, with about 195000 raised last year. The drive runs through Christmas Day and is led by executive director Thomas A. Deveny Jr. and 40 affiliate groups including the Anti-HL League of Kanawha County. Ann Landers serves as national honorary chair.
