Former U S Senator W E Chilton aged 81 died in a Charleston hospital after a period of failing health. Funeral services are at 1 p m at St Johns Episcopal Church with burial in Toay's Hill cemetery. He is survived by his wife Mary Louise Tarr Chilton a son William E Chilton Jr and two daughters Eleanor Carroll Chilton and Elizabeth Leigh Murray. He served in the U S Senate from 1911 to 1917 under President Wilson and later remained active in Democratic circles while editing The Gazette.

Automobile Sales In Record Increase
