Two Automobiles Stolen Reported By City Police

City police said over the weekend two automobiles were among items reported stolen. A black 1948 Ford convertible with license 67-368 was reported stolen from 3222 Avenue 3 by Charles E. King. E. Mcetine of Procius, Clay County, reported a gray 1950 Pontiac sedan stolen from him. A fur coat valued at 49 dollars was stolen from Frances Stout of 1433 Fourth Avenue while she was at Municipal Auditorium. J. Carl Woodrum of Seth, Boone County, said his packet watch was stolen at Charleston bus terminal.

Madeline Hayzlett Files for Citizenship in Charleston

Madeline Jane Hayzlett filed a petition for naturalization yesterday in District Federal Court at RFD 3 Charleston. A Brest France native, she arrived in August 1947 and is married to Miner Lee Hayziett.

Permission Granted To Build Two New Houses In City

Construction permits approved yesterday by City Building Inspector Homer A Johnston authorize two new houses. Clycle M Vaughan got a 14500 dollar permit for a Roosevelt Ave project and Robert George received a 38000 dollar permit for a 4900 block Kanawha Ave home. Other listed permits include a 500 dollar alteration at 1110 Central Ave and a 400 dollar repair at 1838 Seventh Ave. Reroofing at 126 Emile St costs 199 dollars.
