PARIS May 14 CP William J British novelist died at 9 30 tonight at his home in Paris after relapse from a serious operation six weeks earlier. His adopted daughter Miss Shelia Locke was with him at the end. He was 67. Locke had been ill for weeks and had undergone abdominal procedures. The operation relieved the strain but left him too weak to recover.
