Fugitive Williams Captured in Ashland Returned to Charleston
Franx Williams wanted for alleged assault on a young girl in South Charleston was captured in Ashland Kentucky yesterday afternoon. He was brought back to Charleston by Sheriff L C Massey and deputies H B Clay and Z A Trowbridge. He claimed he fled south through Virginia North and South Carolina Georgia and reached St Petersburg before turning back. He intended to return to Spring Hill to see relatives then surrender. Arrest followed a tip to Ashland and rapid transport back to Kanawha County Jail. Williams maintained his innocence and said he planned to stand trial.
