Charleston high school will hold annual preliminary contests on Saturday evening March 6 in the auditorium to pick representatives for the Charleston Literary team. Oratory debate essay and extemporaneous speaking are included with topics drawn from Outlook articles 1925.
Contestants will speak on topics Open Shop Nationalization of Coal Mines Federal Aid to Education and Tas Exempt Securities. Each speaker chooses one of three topics and must persuade to action. Speeches six minutes with five minute outline practice. then five minutes to present and three minutes for rebuttal. Preliminary winners advance to March 24 event with Point Pleasant. Charleston dons club offers ten dollar gold prize to event winners.
