State reports total debt cut by three million fifty thousand
State treasurer B E Talbot announced an apparent operating surplus of 3 050 000 for the fiscal year ending Sunday. He said floating debt was reduced to 2 200 000 from 5 250 000, noting the reduction would yield a surplus if no floating debt existed. He predicted the 900 000 in overdrafts of the sinking funds would be wiped out in coming months as revenue accrues.
