Foreign trade of the United States to rise next year
James A Farrell of United States Steel told the National Foreign Trade convention that 1924 foreign trade reached record volume with exports and imports near 9.3 million tons and value over 8.2 billion dollars. He cited rapid growth since 1913 and said production capacity, lower costs, and strong home markets enable continued overseas sales, though fluctuations will occur. Europe remains a major buyer, and recovery in Europe, especially Italy France Belgium and Germany, supports improved trade outlook amid unemployment concerns in Britain.
