ICC Asked To Restore Train Service
The West Virginia Public Service Commission and Railway Executives Association joined Ashland Kentucky figurehead Vancey in urging the ICC to restore three trains between Washington Cincinnati Portsmouth and Charlottesville Virginia plus keep an Ashland Detroit run. The petition argues Charlottesville service was intrastate and not ICC jurisdictional and claims the trains lose 2.2 million dollars annually. The ICC previously ordered discontinuance of the two trains and will decide if the petition has merit.
