Second Strangling Probed by Troopers
NORTHFORK June 24 State troopers probed Mrs Lucille Van Meter second strangling in McDowell County suggesting a publicity stunt. The 28 year old woman lay on a street while Trooper H D Gibbs said rope was loosely around her neck in Welch last month she was bruised and hospitalised over a week. Authorities found the second incident involved a rope too loose to injure her and no injuries were seen though she returned to Welch hospital. She earlier said a man followed her in Welch after a trip from Northfork then forced her into a car and she later recalled nothing. The second tale had her walking with a man in Northfork last night and she remembered little after walking a few blocks.
