Leggs Resident Fined in Wife Case and Probation Hit
George Signon of Legg and his wife Macel Sigmon, both previously convicted of disorderly conduct, were tried by intermediate court jury. Signon was fined 10 dollars and costs by Judge Cyrus W. Hall, who set aside the jury verdict as to Mrs. Sigmon and granted her husband a brief delay before sentencing. The case, appealed from municipal court, is reportedly the first of its kind tried before a state court jury. The pair faced misconduct claims at a Patrick Street beer parlor. John Summers of St Albans received a three year probation for a guilty plea to unlawful shooting at Beulah Custo of Nitra.
