Counterfeit Bills Warn From Secret Service Veteran
Special Agent Thomas Wooge of the Secret Service warns Charleston residents that passing counterfeit money can bring up to 15 years in prison, or 32 years if two phony notes are involved. He urges immediate surrender of any counterfeit to local authorities to aid tracing. Wooge notes counterfeiting is resurging due to graphic arts advances and urges vigilance despite lack of a simple detection method.

African Units Lead Walkout at ILO Talk
African delegations staged a mass walkout at the ILO's 47th session in Geneva as South Africa's speaker urged cooperation with new African economies. Guards struggled to separate protesters who chanted assassins and criminals, nearly closing the hall before the speech ended. George Meany left the U S bench to join the walkout while the U S delegation remained seated, underscoring tripartite voting norms at the UN labor body.
