Court weighs Ashford payment amid mortgage lien claim
Federal Judge Ben Moore hears whether the 3.3 million dollars awarded to the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad and White Sulphur Springs should be paid to the bank trustee under a 1892 mortgage or directly to the C&O treasury. The Central Hanover Bank argues the mortgage creates a lien for disbursement, while the railroad says the funds are free money from operation profits.
