Hillcrest Sanitarium Building Dedicated in West Virginia

The Hillcrest Sanitarium marks a milestone with a new building to expand care for more children. Dr. Roller praised cooperation from A, Teague, and FERA for materials and labor totaling $3,500 in matched funds. The institution, founded in 1913 by Mrs. Malcolm Jackson, has grown from a 70 acre camp to a 400 child capacity, focusing on pediatric care after wartime tuberculosis veterans were cared for earlier. Construction details include examination rooms, staff quarters, kitchens, dining areas, and reception spaces as the project progresses under local officials and an architect’s guidance.
