West Virginia toll turnpike faces terrain test says engineer
Charleston engineer Carl H. Peterson of Howard Needles Tammen and Bergendorf told the Charleston Board of Realtors the proposed expressway from Charleston to Princeton will be a two lane tailored road to fit income. He said traffic estimates show the toll road can be self sustaining with about 8000 vehicles daily and noted features like nine foot shoulders nine percent of the route with 90 bridges and 12 foot lanes. Toll gates timing remains undecided but will come before completion planned for 1984.

Two persons were held for grand jury action after preliminary hearings in municipal court on grand larceny charges. R. K. Lewis, 54, of 605 Sixth Ave St. Albans, and Trixy Smith, 49, of 61014 Court St. Lewis was arrested on a warrant signed by Zena Stevens of RFD 3 St. Albans and he received a jail term on a drunkenness charge with another grand larceny hearing continued to Friday.
