South Charleston hospital aim faces funds drive
South Charleston considers charter to take over and operate Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital. Incorporators include W. W. Allen and R. D. Rhodes among others. A Works Progress Administration approval and a capital fund drive are planned to bring the nonprofit facility into operation. The hospital building is completed but lacks operating funds, prompting community response and a push for local sponsorship and donations.
