Britain to Build Night Fighters Set for Mass Production
The Air Ministry approved mass production of Britain's Gloster GAS 135 a flying triangle night fighter powered by two Sapphire jets, placing it on super priority in defense plans. The decision ends months of consideration between the GAS and the rival twin boom De Havilland DH.110, with speed near sonic in both aircraft. The government has not clarified orders for the DH.110 or other models. Military personnel moves include Pvt Beckett, Pvt Stuart E. Pratt, Capt Nathan W Goodman, and Sgt Paul D. Higginbotham, with postings to Chanute AFB Camp Pickett Ft Belvoir and Meade Md.
