Crane hits power line at Westvaco plant fatal and injures two
A plant crane at Westvaco Chemical Corp in South Charleston touched a 4 000 volt line. A1 rigger A Holston died and A L B Perry was burned and injured. The accident occurred at 10 25 a m during equipment transfer to the storage yard. Holston’s body remained at Snodgrass mortuary.

Mack the Bloodhound aids WV authorities in recapturing eight convicts who escaped from Moundsville prison. County Forest Protector R. O. Powers and officers accompanied the dog as he tracked suspects across West Virginia. The dog, about 70 pounds, was sourced from Arkansas State Penitentiary officials with another Bloodhound named Loney stationed in Romnsy South Branch district.
